I have a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, I'm having trouble getting it to vac lock, the diff locks but still no 4x4 took off that front axle actuator, it moved freely and could hear it trying to work, after that I put it back on thinking it was just stuck still no 4x4? I'm stuck. Help?

Did you check your vacuum line? It could be damaged somewhere not allowing it to create a vacuum. You might also check for a clogged line going to the diff, if you can pull it off and blow it out to make sure it's clear. Possibly a bad vacuum motor, a vacuum gauge would be pretty helpful in this situation.

So the actuator moving means it's good? and I will pull off all the vaccum lines going to diff and front axle and check to make sure they are aren't being blocked or leaking, if it's not a vaccum problem could it be any thing on the front axle?
