Have a 1997 1500 with 200,000 miles on it. Took it in to get State Emissions done, 2 different places said we can't read anything. I put my Autel MS 300 OBDII scanner on it and it showed no codes. I also did the key on off, on, off, on and it showed no codes, but it never gave me the 55 code saying all is complete.
I checked the wiring at the diagnostic connector---pins look fine also.
Truck seems to run just fine.
Has anyone got any Ideas????

Any thoughts on this? I am having the same issue.

EDIT:
So I found another post online that said if the battery died (which was my issue), the memory on the computer is lost and it has no data. You need to drive it 50-200 miles for it to collect the correct data to turn back on. I got a permit and drove it for 3 days (approx 30 miles a day). Just took it to Autozone and had them test it. It came up and read fine when they tested it.

So if you had any power outage with batter, make sure to drive it some before taking it down and the problem should be resolved.
