Well, the noise coming from my front end I have determined to be the CV joint ball on the front drive shaft. Are these balls replaceable? How muck of a job is it? I'm thinking I'm just going to pull it apart and pack it full of grease and try to get a trip to silver lake and one winter out of it.

Axle to wheel on a 4wd yes. Unless it's called something different.

Where it connects to the T-case, basically double joint, technical book calls it a CV joint

Interesting. I only have one U-joint on each end. Guess they made the 2500's different or Maybe it is a different type of CV joint. I always thought a cv had a ball and socket connector. But I don't know for sure.

Yea we can tell mostly by looking. Kinda like our build sheets say rack and pinion steering. Last time I looked I had a steering box and a track bar. lol
