Drivers side front axle

My drivers side front axle wiggled and has a lot of play in it.. Could it just need the axle seal changed or a whole new axle? Thanks

Play at the u-joint? Does your wheel rock back and forth when off the ground?

Yea when I turn wheel and grab the u joint that's connected to axle.i can wiggle the axle quite a bit.. Haven't jacked it up yet

Does it make a clacking noise while you turn? Sounds like you need a new u-joint to me.

I'm talking about the axle that goes in too front end. The u joint isn't wiggling and I can see the u joint it looks fine. The axle is wiggling and has a lot of play

It grinds mostly and sounds like crap just going forward

You talking about the axle shaft that goes from the u-joint into the diff housing? That axle has play? Any oil leak?

Yea that's what im talking about. Yea quite a bit of play...i don't see any oil but don't know how long it's been bad.. Since I just got truck

So drivers wheel hub, stub shaft, u joint and inner axle.

Your inner axle flops around?
Seeing how it's in your gears it should really have no play. I'm leaning towards you broke an axle.
