I have a 95, 2500 HD, 4X4 w/ 5.9L, V-8
A little history, 2nd Owner and I love this truck.
Replaced body parts and many driveline parts. To name a few:
Entire front end short of the gearbox
Replaced Trans @ 200K
Replaced Transfer Case at 215K
Replaced OD Unit @ 255K
Now, need to replace the trans. I am going to rebuild it myself as it appears to be relatively easy and I have had some experience doing so.
The questions is for anyone who has spent a little extra in beefing up a 46RH. I was reading some blogs wherein diesel owners have done some work to strengthen the trans by install clutch units with extra discs. So I was wondering if any of you RAM enthusiasts have done this type of mod, considered shift kits, have suggestions on brand names for parts, etc.
Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated.
