I have a 1998 5.9 4wd, and my oil would stay at a regular presure but when I was gassing it the pressure doubled, but didn't redline. Any ideas?

What do you mean by normal pressure? What number? Is this at idle then you give it throttle and it doubles?

Not to jump to conclusions but this sounds normal.

The pressure will increase with rpms, but only to a point, where the pressure relief spring takes over and limits the oil press to predetermined amount.
