So today I did a Transfer case fluid change. The old fluid didn't have any smell or grittiness to it so im thinking it was fine. However I put new fluid in to help my OCD.

My question is according to the manual my transfer takes 2.5 quarts. However I probably put only close to 1.5. Whats with that?

Eh, manual fill numbers are off for everything accept engine oil. lol I'm sure that's an exaggeration, but you get the idea.

As just as it's just to the bottom of the fill hole, you're good.

That's what I figured, but never hurts to double check :)

No problems. Better to double check then over or under fill.
