Hey guys I'm new to this forum and hoping to get a little help. I have an 05 Ram 2500 QC with a Hemi. The truck has 50K miles and its time to put a cummins in. I have the shop and tools and the time and money I just need a little guidance. I'm going to sell the Hemi and tranny and tc and wandering which direction would be the easiest route to take, 12v or 24v? I would think the 12v would be the easier swap because it only takes some fuel to make these run. I'm sure I will get plenty guys telling me to just buy a cummins truck but I never do things the easy way and I am extremely attached to this truck so that is not an option. I have a fuel tank and lines already and I have a 12v and a 24v already just looking for some direction and help is greatly appreciated.

Easiest way is to go common rail as you will be swapping harnesses/ecm and lots of other items 2004.5 to 2007 engines are pretty much all the same. Find a wrecked donor truck and your on your way.

I would like to do this one day also. I would like to find an 04 or 05 cummins in a junk yard or something and completely rebuild it with a ton of horse power and torque. I would like to do this so I dont have to spend 15k on a used cummins and then do everything I want to it. But I can find a lot of used 2500's with high miles on them for cheap and I would like to buy one of them and get a donor cummins or something and build it from there. Im still learning and would like to know how to go about this as well
