I have a 2000 ram 2500 with the 5.9 magnum amd I want to swap a 24v into it. I can get a donor truck for a good price with alot of work done to it. But it was deemed totaled but everything is fine mechanically. Can I get away with this making the truck registerable I know the vins wont match and things. It this a possible swap or not thats all I want to know thanks

Registration has noting to do with the powerplant. Should not be a problem. May be an issue if you have inspections, but I don't know.

Thats my concern about inspecting the vehicle. I live in NH, with obdII it obviously wodnt pass for a diesel. So I couldnt get away with it. How about a 12v swap since there is no electronics does I just pass anyways. Thanks for the help if there another thread on other fourms like this I.can take a look at.

Honestly, you really need to call your state inspections office and see if they can send you the inspection law/handbook and read up on how to qualify for an exception. Talking to guys on the forums, the NE states are really starting to crack down on modified diesels. It would be a shame to do all this work only to have to keep it parked because you missed a piece of paperwork that needed to be filed.
