Ok help please. My new tires on my truck have to go. I can't afford the lift yet but these stock tires will not cut it. So will 35/12.5R20's fit on my stock 3500 Mega 4x4? If not what size would or if I got a level kit for a temp fix would that work?

Update: JJ lights are on the black truck and my HID's are also. The light bar would not work so I will be selling that. I'm not sure what I should do about the 7" hid lights. The truck bed will be rhino lined Monday, and the Tint will be applied some time this week on side and front window. Weather Tech floor mats on order.

Near future - Tires - camper shell- possible lift :)

On a side note my main sponsor has agreed to pick up my new truck!!!!!!

Ive seen it done before, they will but they will probably rub on the control arm at full lock
315/70/17 are very close in size and shouldn't rub as much
It's not bad but you realize quickly it gets a little annoying as the trucks so long

That is great to know. Would a leveling kit help with clearing 35's?

Leveling kit would actually make it worse.

Stock rims and there offset suck on there 3/4 and 1 tons.

Hell on a 3rd gen you can fit 37s with no lift. lol

315s will do the trick for now. Maybe try and find a 10.50 or 11.50 tire just so you don't have a problem!

Actually when I put a level on till after 35s and with the stock wheels it doesn't change anything
I had found a bunch pictures of leveled/not leveled megas with 35s but now I can't find them

Just stick with a D or E rated tire and you'll be good. If your planning on towing a 5th wheel then I'd recommend an E rated tire.

Cooper SSTs are popular. Most of them are E rated except their 37s lol

I just purchased Goodyear Fierce Attitude tires...they are only D rated. But I've read reviews from CTD owners getting 45-55k miles out of them. I dont tow that much and no gooseneck.

Yeah I looked into the cooper sst's but I did not see them in the 315's. I will say it is pretty cool to be able to leave a 80 feet of rubber on the road taking off in a stock truck. I am really excited about being able to get this engine all beefy.

Here is a idea of how the truck will sort of look later this year.

MAKE SURE THE LOAD RANGE OF THE TIRE IS E. The truck is way to heavy for a D range. You wouldn't be able to haul anything. I've seen people put D's on 3/4-1 tons and it's a very washy ride. The side walls aren't stiff enough to hold the weight of the Cummings.

Actually D rated tires are fine for a cummins as long as your not hauling something to big (5th wheel/gooseneck) all the time.

I wouldn't though. You just limit your truck so much doing that. I'm pretty sure, depending on the insurance company, if you get in a accident and they find out you have D range tires they might not back you. That's why they come stock with E's. Granted some D range tires have a load range pretty close to a E. But cummins engines a very heavy. I think they are the heaviest of the diesel engines. My last truck was a 05 dodge 3500 dually and I was having a hard time finding tall and skinny tires in a A/T or M/T with a E range. I didn't want to add a spacer in the rear.

I agree with you on its recommended. But majority of Cummins owners have D rated tires and are fine(that go aftermarket). Including me. I have 0 problems.

Not wanting to argue bc you have a valid point... and E rated tire is what you will want to go with if you haul heavy loads. But I wouldn't rule out that a D rates tire wont be right on a Cummins.

D's are easier to find with more options than E's.
