This has probrably been asked before...

But overall what is the bests years for the Dodge Rams with the Cummins motors?

With all the changes over the years when it comes to body's and emissions...

I own a 2004 Dodge Ram and I really like the simplicity of the truck, good fuel mileage, not a lot of Gizmo's, except for the rear bed side design for rusting out....

Not sure if I would be interested in a Newer one down the road

Thanks for any and all comments...STEVE M

If you like the styling of your 04 then I would stay with 07s and older. In 07 they switched to the 6.7, which is fine, but they also added emissions. They also made the 5.9 for the first part of 07. My first pick would be a 06-07 5.9

Do you know if the 06 & 07 models have the same comfortable interior as my 04 has?

In my opinion the 03-04's have the best leather for 3rd gens but others may disagree.

I agree on the 06/07 5.9L Cummins. My 07 was extremely comfortable.

But to answer the original question, 06/07 are the best in my opinion

When the 6.7 was introduced in the later model 07s they had a dpf, just like the early 4th gens. You are right in saying the def started in 13 though

Anything up to mid 2007 with the 5.9. They killed the diesels after that.

Agreed but dont get me wrong I love the 6.7 but the 68rfe and emission stuff definitely outweigh advantages of having the 6.7
