Ever wonder what a airdog filter looks like under the can?

Here you go gang... I changed filter early because of a fuel pressure problem... So I desided to cut open the filters to show you...

The fuel filter I think got about 3K but I changed it early thinking I had a plugged filter... (D'Oh!) it was the check ball in the pump that caused the problem.

As for the prefilter that is over 100K miles (5 years old)...

I like the old school AirDog 150 with the old JIC fitting but not the new quick connects there is just too many issues with them...

Bros got the Air Dog II. No issues with the couplings. I kind of thought it was bs till we installed it. EGTs went down and it made the motor a lot quieter which was really dramatic.

Pulled the bed to install instead of dropping the tank.

That's the other thing I not impressed on the newer AirDog's for is the mounting braket. Street truck its fine... But I'm not a street truck I live in a area of dirt road and offroad usage.

Now as you can see mine is mounted on a L bracket tuck up behind the transfer case to guard it from offroad debris. As for the newer FASS/AirDog's they are both just mounted to the frame rail and the filter hand down in the debris path of the tires. So now its up to the owner to build a shield for the filters. Not a good design at all.

i put the ADII on mine. i did not really have any big problems with it. the hoses are alittle long but i was able to route them with out cutting them and i dont think they will be a problem. if i was off road as much as mike i would much rather have his set up to protect the pump. it is a good location for either on or off road. short of being on job while doing all the site work my truck sees little dirt unde rits wheels. not afraid to take it there though. i did like the kit it came with to replace my beloved intank pump. it went in fine and works just fine.
