I wonder how many people reporting actually hand calculate their results?

Mine for example, the computer is optimistic by 2mpg.

Hand calculated strictly city driving I see 13.7mpg.
Mixed highway/city it gets 14.8 or so
All highway I've gotten 18mpg @ 75mph

With my stock setup I used to see 20.5 average. Now I'm around 14.8 lifted with heavier tires and wheels.

Fuelly is an app that calculates the MPG based upon fill-ups (same as hand calculating over time). I suppose if people wanted to construe the numbers they could enter less fuel during a fill-up to net a higher MPG, but not sure why they would.
I use the fuelio app and enter every tank of fuel.

I thought the whole idea of the diesel is better MPG - oh wait that was 15 or so years ago.

My 4.7 gets roughly the MPG! & I have way less power.

Actually the whole idea of a diesel is towing power and longevity. Add 3K lbs to your truck and report back on your fuel economy:waytogo:
Now if you are talking about the 1/2 ton diesel trucks, which is comparable to what you have, I believe that they are mid 20's for highway fuel economy.

I got a 2015 Ram 3500 Crew Cab, 4x4 with 6.4 bed with the Cummins 6.7 in it and I do 60% city stop and go traffic, and 30% Highway driving and my mileage is growing, I manually calculate it myself with miles and gallons at the pump, and im at around 18.5 Mpg, although the dash says 20 MPG+ Still soo much better then my Ford F150 i traded in which got me 10-12 mpg doing same driving route which was a gas 5.7 engine..
I been hearing others say you get the best mileage from these cummins after 10k on them like 20-22mpg. My truck just now has 1,390 miles on it and is 3 weeks old :p
However its already needing to go into the shop :( Brand new truck or not people INSPECT your engine and under carriage and fluid levels, mine has leaks in several locations.

Sorry to hear that. I know you're pissed off about it. When I first got my Cummins I had mine in the shop 4 times for water in the fuel. They kept telling me it's bad fuel. Finally they were told by corporate to swap out the fuel filter sensor and I never had the problem again. They even refunded my $220 for the first repair. I've been happy with her since. Hopefully yours will settle in soon. Oh and yes, after the first 10k miles thing is true. My milage improved along the way.

Sounds like the majority of you folks are getting a lot less MPG than what I am seeing. Numbers listed will be light load, people and bags etc. On the highway at a 80 mph cruising speed (legal in Idaho) I am getting 22 mpg. On mountain highways with 65 mph limits, 26 mpg.

I am liking this rig!!!:)

I have a '15 3500 dually, 6.7 cummins, 8 speed, 4x4, 4:11's, regular cab, long bed. Took it to the scale, weghs 7,940 lbs. 4,780 front and 3,160 rear. Started out at 17.2 mpg. Just broke 2,000 miles, mileage is climbing. Just passed 18.7. Have hopes for 20-22. 90% of my driving is town. Boise has a SEVERE freeway shortage.

So far have been lucky. No runs, no hits, no errors. My only complaints? The ignition doesn't "snap" back to run from start and the touch sensitivity on the radio/nav etc. is a little sluggish.

I've been a Dodge fan since the 60's when I street raced a '62 with a 426 wedge and an Art Carr tricked out 727 tranny in L.A. Fun times...

Oh yeah, my other car is a '14 Dart. Average 32 mpg.
