I have a 96 Ram 2500 with a 47RE. I bought the WIX transmission filter and rubber gasket set from O'Reillys to replace a cork gasket that was leaking when the bolts were torqued down. I've looked online and in my Haynes and Chrysler Service Manual and they all say either 150 in pounds or 13 foot pounds of torque. I can't get more than hand tight before the rubber gasket starts to bulge out. Do I need to swap out for another gasket? The motor has 250,000 miles on it and the tranny was rebuilt at 200,000. Also, What brand of ATF +4 do you recommend? I've heard Castrol is great. I am thinking about just upgrading to a deeper pan with a drain plug. Any recommendations? Thanks everyone. I know I need to fill out my accessory information. I will get to it Click the image to open in full size.
