There are a few coatings that can be installed by the consumer, which is a lot cheaper than paying a professional detailer to do it. There are lots of video's and U tube presentations about how to do it and the products are available through autogeek and autopia. The most important step in applying a coating is the preparation of the paint. ALL paint corrections need to be made before you install the coating. The complete process is explained in "how to" video's on both autogeek and autopia.

What is the cost of having someone do this?

$750 which included truck detail (wheels and wells, inside), paint correction (if needed), full truck buff to remove all swirl marks, and the ceramic coating. For my new truck (3 months old) there was 15 hrs of buffing to remove swirl marks.

A full 12 pack day--at least. And the results are worth every "drop".

Thats a great price! In my area they charge $1200 bucks. I just couldn't do it. I would for 750!
