I'm probably going to do this this weekend. I've never waxed a vehicle before, and I had the truck permaplated at the dealership. What would y'all recommend as a temporary solution until I decide to spend money at Adam's, which may be a while from now since the permaplating lasts 7 years?

You bought a warranty with the "permaplating" nothing more. The stuff isn't worth a damn! NO LSP lasts 7 years. FACT!

I'd highly recommend you pop into adamsforums.com if you get a chance and read up. Also watching their how-to vids will show you the correct ways to work with your paint, rubber, plastic, and glass and interior.

Remember, you get what you pay for when it comes to detailing supplies. The best way to buy Adams is with their daily specials and using the forum code for 10% off. You have nothing to lose with the 110% guarantee.

I've watched all kinds of videos on their site and YouTube channel. I am without a doubt going to purchase their products, and send a lot of money to them for the rest of my life. I was just curious if there is another brand that I could get a small bottle at advanced auto parts or something to get me through till I purchase Adam's.

How many times did y'all have to go over the debadged area with the 3M adhesive remover before what was left over came off? I had a lot of adhesive left around the edges. I've sprayed 3 times, let sit for about 5-10 seconds, and then wiped off with a microfiber towel. It just seems to smear it and not remove it.

Finally got mine done today! I used the fishing line, pull method. I used 3M adhesive remover spray to remove what was left. Then used Meguires Wet/Dry Wax to seal up the area and make it shine.

I have the TRX4 sticker on the back, what is the best process to take that off? I am going to debadge, but I will probably leave the Hemi badges on. Thanks for the help.

ETA: Does it matter that my truck is 4 years old? Will the paint be faded? Should I stay away from doing it this late in the game? Thanks!

Your paint could be faded underneath, Yes.
With enough elbow grease you can bring the paint back around it if you need to.

What color is your truck?

The paint won't be faded... If anything, it'll be darker. Paint that's NOT covered will fade to a lighter color.

No amount of polishing will resolve the issue. Help perhaps, but not eliminate it.

Personally, unless it's garage kept and you're a detailing fool, I'd leave it alone.

Its Brilliant black pearl.
Yes, what I meant was the paint around being faded, not the paint under the badges. It is not garage kept.
