Thanks man. And I didn’t even factor in how much easier it is to wash and wax. Those badges hold a lot of dirt too.

Yeah. It's coming up on a year since I've bought my detailing stuff and I still haven't gone over the truck yet, lol. Only did the junkyard fender I pulled (old one dented) so it wouldn't have that pseudo-faded hazy look.

came here to see what people use to get rid of the glue, guess ill share the method i used too

heat gun and a multi-tool knife

the left over dirty adhesive residue and the grooves left behind in the paint by the knife give it character, in my opinion.

looks good from 15 feet away

10/10 would not do again

Did it for the first time today, on the passenger side I used a heat gun and a plastic trim removal tool. To clean up the mess I used acetone and a micro fiber cloth. The ghosting was cleaned up with some cleaner wax. On the driver side I just used the plastic scraper, no heat, actually it made less of a mess with the old adhesive.

Pretty sure the road debris here in WA state is the main ingredient for Quikcrete. I've tried everything, goo removers, wax and tar remover, solvents, acetone etc

If I leave the truck dirty its hardley noticable.

Think I'll stop by one of the rice car shops and get one of those massive fast n furious graphics they put on the sides lol

Fk it, there are so many rock chips in the paint and sap that dripped all over the hood during the summer that trying to make it aesthetically pleasing would be an uphill battle.

Next ram I'm going to buy new

Have you tried 3M adhesive remover? How about an eraser wheel? Sap can usually be removed by either alcohol or by using a clay bar. Initially it will be quite a project getting your paint back into shape, but after you've do it the first time, maintaining it ain't so bad. The longer you let it go the harder it will be to revive it.

Clay bar! That's what I forgot!

I walked through home depot and autozone and snatched anything that mentioned removing tar or adhesives. Its resilient stuff I'll give it that

It can be kinda a pain in the ass----I agree 100%. If you use the clay bar, don't forget the clay bar lub or you will scratch the **** out of your paint. Good luck

That might be the reason I'm not having any luck with it lol

Edit: had it soaking in Goo Gone for a couple hours, went out again just now with a microfiber and scrubbed and scrubbed and nothing moved. I touched it with my thumb nail and it fell right off. I need to go fishing more and relearn patience

I got my 2019 Ram from a local place called Pine Belt Dodge. They left me with 2 license plate rims that I immediately threw out, replaced with NY Giants plate rims, removed the adhesive sticker on the bumper with a heat gun. What's left is this hard material badge that's annoying the F out of me. I hate it and it's fugly. Anyway to remove this without screwing up the finish or will these methods work?

Hahah the adhesive
Good god what is that ****? Each of my doors on the B pillar is taking as long as it did to debadge the entire truck! That tape... Wow.

Also, Ram really wants that big rams head badge to stay on the tailgate no matter what. Found that out the hard way.

My emblems were on since 2014.

That's where the big horn was. They are all coming off good using this.

Big Terry, What year/model is your RAM? Mine is a 2019 Laramie and I wish to remove the very large shinny RAM on the tailgate and replace with black version. I found out original is a two piece part and black is one piece. Please, how did you remove yours/ TKS, SATCOM
