I recently Plasti Dipped all my emblems, rims, grille, the plastic molding on the bumpers and my taillights.
I decided (against better judgement) to take it through a local 3 min carwash... After gritting my teeth all the way through, hearing it beat the crap out of my paint the plasti dip was fine, the paint not so much....
I decided today was as good as any to clay it and buff out the scratches. After vacuuming out all the dirt from the interior I went to an auto parts shop and picked up the mothers clay kit. It came with 2 bars of clay, a microfiber towel, and a 16oz bottle of spray. After claying my truck for the first time since it was purchased I buffed out the scratches with Pinnacle advanced swirl remover. This left my paint smooth and free of the little scratches the car wash put in it. I then waxed it with Pinnacle carnauba wax and boy is she looking good. The paint now looks like it is flowing! For an 11 year old truck she has some little dents and scratches but the paint looks almost new!
