To start off. when i got my truck in February of 2016 i waited fo slightly warmer weather to do my clay bar and sealent. I think it was about the beginning of April when i did it... michigan is cold. So to wash, clay bar and seal it took me about 8 hours. The paint was rail dust city. Clay bar was most of the time. Maybe 5 hours of it. Its a Crew Cab Long Bed Ram 3500.

Today i just finished the wash and clay bar in about an hour an a half!!!

I followed the directions on the bottle of Iron X to the T. Washed, let product sit on pannel for 5 minutes, wipe with soft sponge and rinse. So while the product was sitting for 5 minutes i was doing a quick clay bar on the pannel that i Iron X'ed before that one.

This stuff works great. I have ZERO rail dust on my white truck and the Iron X did 99% of the work. There were only 2 or 3 spots that i had to give some attention to with the bar. The rest of the time the clay bare action was to just listen for anything on the paint. And i did hear a few things but its like the Iron X softened it up to were it just wiped right off. This stuff does not hurt the paint either. And if i remember correctly, it is body shop safe.

This stuff is an amazing time saver. I ended up using a full liter bottle for my truck. The produck does no harm whatsoever to any plastics, rubber trim or glass.

If you are considering it, take my word for it. It worth its time saving by far

FYI: this stuff stinks somthin fearce .

Initially the first rail-dust that is on your truck may be from an actual train that your truck was riding on. But after you get that off, from there on out the rail dust that you find on your truck is from your brake pads and industrial fall out in the air. You would literally have to be parked RIGHT next to the train tracks to get any rail dust from it.

Rail dust is hot ferrrous metal particles floating in the air. Because they're hot when they land on your truck they stick to/in the paint, hence you would have to be pretty close to the source for the particles to still be hot.

Industrial fall out on the other hand is just things floating in the air that have some sort of reaction with your paint.
