My headlights have a yellow haze to them, big surprise for a 13 year old truck, but I've got a set of hid's coming and I want to clean them up before I get them inside. ANyone used anything that actually works fairly well, other than buying a new set of assemblies?

I have used the 3m headlight restore kit before on older stuff and works good but sometimes the haze is just to much. The 3m kit is a liquid along with different sanding disks and buffers.

They're not too bad. I just want them clearer and ready for the hid's

Also took the liberty of removing the bug shield things over the headlights

try the 3m kit, its wet sanding with 3 different grits and then some polishing compound. Should clean you up a little

What about just regular turtle wax? I've used that before and it seems to help alot

I had the same problem with my second gen lights. Used one of those kits and it worked well, but it came back a few months later.

I just don't want the "cheap" look that most of the aftermarket lights I've seen in person have. I'd almost rather buy a new OEM set...

Plus, I like the turn signal/marker light separete from the headlight

I've tried the sanding and polishing deal on our Cruiser's headlights. It helps some but does indeed come back. I have read that some people suggest sanding, polishing and then clear coating them to get them to stay clear longer. Thinking about doing it and see how it works.

The headlight retaining ring won't sit on to the hid because of a piece of the housing that wires are ran through. I'll probably pick up another set of rings to trim and see if I can get them to work...
