Sorry if this has been talked about but I'm thinking of buying polish to add to the detailing get I got for Christmas I know I can do most with chrome polish such as both bumpers, chrome mirror covers and hood deflector and my running boards not sure about my rims

I wouldn't machine polish a "chrome" grille, mirrors, or wheels on these trucks as they aren't real chrome; they're plastic. Attempting to polish them with the wrong product could certainly do more harm than good. I definitely wouldn't machine polish them.

If it's a light duty product you'll be good to go. But again, I wouldn't work it too hard. You'll be able to remove some surface corrosion off the plastic chrome but that's about it. If it's really thrashed you likely won't get it to shine back up and you don't want to be too aggressive to the point where you'd go through the chrome coating.

Are your rims chrome or aluminum?
