Recently purchased a 14 CCSB Black Express used, previously owned by some kid/retard who decided it would be beneficial to plastidip the hell out of everything on an already blacked out truck. I got it all off the wheels with a pressure washer, but this retard decided to do the door handles, and he only masked off about 2" around them. So with the truck nice and clean, you can see rectangular plastidip overspray on all 4 doors. There is also about a 6 inch spot where it looks like the can barfed on the door(think spraypaint drips).

There also seems to be the same thing on the roof around the high mount, but that appears to be VHT/nightshade. And none of it will come off of the doors or roof.

So how do you get this crud off? I know someone has goofed and got this stuff on paint before. I was thinking claybar, but dont want to possibly damage the paint.

First thing that comes to mind is clay bar. Or some clear coat safe rubbing/polishing compounds. I would start with a clay kit that should work. It not going to magically fall off with the clay bar you'll have to work at it but it should come off.

Goo gone gets its off real easy. Spray a little on, wait a minute and wipe it off.

The makers of plastidip also have a spray called Dip Dissolver...spray it on, wait five minutes then power wash it off.worked like a charm on my wheels

Thanks, guys. I'll try the goo gone before going for the claybar. I'm not putting something with "dissolver" in the title on my paint until I see someone else do so successfully.

WD-40 works great as well.
wont mess up the paint either. i used it to get it off my wheel a month ago. spray it over the dip wait about 10 minutes then it will almost melt off.

Dip Dissolver works well and I've used it a few times. It's basically like Goo Gone so just get some of that in a spray bottom, spray it on wait 3-5 min and spray again, then wash off.

If the dip was put on correctly it should've come off in one big piece.

Another vote for WD-40. Just apply wax or sealant to bring back to bring the shine and protection.

I vote WD-40 and goo gone. If it's just the dip tho it should peel off..of course that's if it was applied correctly..sounds to me like it wasn't.

Tarminator, WD-40, and Dip Dissolver are all basically the exact same thing. They're all a petroleum distillate product, and won't harm your paint. They're not any worse than getting gas on it, but they will strip off any little protection that was there in the first place. I'd recommend spraying down the car with degreaser/Dawn afterwards, then putting on a good wax/sealant.
