My 2011 outdoorsman has the plastic handles, like the folding tow mirror texture. Smacked it with my wax applicator yesterday.

I try to tape the plastic off before I wax, saves lots of work getting the wax off the plastic.

Tape and then if there is some wax on plastic and creases, using a steam wand afterwards to clean out works well
