I am not really the kind of person that has spent hours detailing their vehicle but with the new truck I am going to try to keep on top of it. Upon delivery of new vehicles I used to be one of those guys that got the overpriced paint sealant and then just washed and occasionally polished the vehicle.

I see numerous reports about wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant and was wondering if anyone has used it and would either say yea or nay..Hate to pay the shipping price to get it here in canada if there are local alternatives that are as good or better. Up until this point in time I have used either the old standby turtle wax, meguiars or mother's .

Its a great product, leaves a super smooth finish and very glossy. Might see if there is a car-pro rep in Canada and get CQuartz which is a coating and much better choice. Make sure you prep well then use it. Found it:

Wolfgang is fun to use because it is so easy and puts a great shine, but not very durable. Zaino is very durable and also fun to use, Collinite double coat is a great wax but kind of hard to use, Collinite 845 is still a little harder to use but easier then double coat and all are great choices IMO>

IMHO Wolfgang is one of the best sealants there is. Under most circumstances it will last about 6 months. You can wait 24 hours and then top it with Collinite 845 and I think you will like the results. The sealant will protect your finish and the wax will make it "pop". I agree that Collinite is one of the best waxes you can use and will last longer than most waxes.
Check autogeek about the above two mentioned products. I think you will see that they speak very highly about them.

In looking around the net I see simonize glass coat as well....looks super easy to apply. I know the stealership wanted me to pay ridiculous money for a paint sealant which was the simonize and I see it on ebay all the time for around 60 an application. At any rate thanks for the feedback..Have to see what the dealership did prior to delivery as the water is beading kind of nicely on it currently so I presume they give it a coat of wax. Just that it is black so that extra "pop" would be kind of nice.

I am not familiar with the Wolfgang line of products, but here is another vote for Zaino. It is RIDICULOUSLY easy to apply and buff off, smells good enough to eat, and lasts like no one's business.
I currently use Nu-Finish as a cheaper, far more readily available Zaino alternative for wheels and my trailer. I like to wax often, so I stick with carnauba for the vehicles.

the wolfgang sealant is a great product and easy to use. menzerna power lock is a similarly good product and easy to use.

if you are looking for longer lasting durability, a coating might be what your after. cquartz uk or optiocat.

Paint Coatings
Opticoat - Is a pain in the ass to apply, however always yields decent results.
Cquartz UK - 1.0/1.5/2.0 is 100x easier than the former..
GTechniq EXO -is a decent product. Its raved about however another complicated product with a lengthy dry time.
Chemical Guys Second Skin 6(the number is irrelevant) - I haven't used this product, nor have I seen many reviews.

Paint Sealants
Klasse - What can i say its CLAAAAASSSEYYY (CORNY I KNOW)
Chemical Guys Jet Seal - Decent product, if you're looking for something High Gloss with a glass like feel this product might not be for you.
Detailer's Poli-Coat Paint Sealant - Easy to apply, however hazes quick even in the cool inside.

Products that I've tested(minus Chemical Guys Second Skin). My opinion may not mean much but an opinion/test subject at that.

I haven't used those, so I can't really compare, but I can say that of everything I have ever used, I prefer Adam's Polishes products. There's a lot of debate on these things, just like anything else, but when compared to stuff made by Chemical Guys, Adam's is way better. It isn't cheap, but in my opinion, it's the best I've used and for a guy who also doesn't like spending hours and hours detailing, it's very easy to work with. On my Pitch Black colored Charger, it lasted a full year and probably would have lasted longer had I not chosen to re-apply. I put wax over it and I have to say even on that car, dirt would come right off and I didn't have a single scratch or swirl mark. Could be due to keeping it clean, but I think the sealant and top coat of wax did it. I got started on using their stuff because I wanted to challenge their 110% guarantee. Never needed to, and I'm sold on it. Adam's Premium Car Care - Cleaners, Waxes and Polishes Made in the USA

I am SOLD SOLD SOLD on the Wolfgang sealant....easy to apply and remove and REALLY works. I used another high quality brand of paint sealant on a small test area on the dually, let it sit for about an hour, and holy crap I needed a chisel to get that stuff buffed out...I was told by a detailer friend who uses this brand that it can be a task removing it and he was RIGHT...Im not going through all that work when Wolfgang goes on and comes of so easily....GO WOLFGANG!!!!

I am very partial to Menzerna Powerlock and/or Sonax Polymer Netsheild. I plan on using opti-coat to seal my Ram once my next supply order comes on. I have yet to try anything from Wolf, however.
