The fuse for the starter relay keeps blowing. it is originally a 20Amp which blew and at the time all I had was a 25 amp and it worked until yesterday when it also blew.
Something is happening that is increasing the current so it is not bad wires and nothing stands out. Does anyone know if a bad solenoid will cause this fuse to blow. Or is there something common to this fuse?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!!

As you stated, if a fuse is blowing there are usually only 2 reasons: a short in the line or high current draw. You definitely do not want to keep upping the fuses. How are the contacts in the solenoid/starter? Sometimes just breaking them loose, brushing all the connection points and tightening them back down with a little dielectric grease can solve an over current situation.

Also, depending on the age of the current starter, you may want to think about replacing it anyway. If it is weak now it will likely give up on you when the cold weather hits in the next few months.

I am not that familiar with the 5.9s So hopefully others will chime in too. Best of luck finding the solution to this problem and post back with your results.
