Hey everyone new on here, not getting any resoinces to the other forum, here is my problem I have no start condition, no code. With the intake off a **** of ether she will start , but run rough, white and grey smoke, she will run with a miss but maintain a low rpm but if I bump the throttle she will creep and run to Max throttle, I don't let it run long enought to see if it comes down but when I give her another shot after shutting it down she will nor smoke that bad I'm checked my oil and its now a lot higher than normal, so I leaning toward injectors, anyone have a way a figuring out which injectors it is, and would diesel in the oil with it being that high cause that runaway condition

Just replace all 6 injectors... While your at it do a compression test and see how much you wiped out the rings from leaking injectors. What happens on the CR engine is as the injectors wear out they start to leak constantly which ends up spraying fuel on the cylinder walls washing out the rings. As in you case you using ether to fire it up because the injectors are leaking so bad you can't make 4,500 PSI in the rail at startup time.

Now the bad new injectors are in the relm of about $3,000 bucks for a set of 6 stock injectors. (Which in 24V terms I could buy 3 VP44's).

Now if the compression is low you might end up doing a ring job on top of it...

At 2:26 is where the injector start leaking in the valve seat...

How many miles on the truck ?

I would not be spraying starting fluid in it!!

My advice to you since you have them out,is to send them off and have them benched tested.Exgery would be who I would deal with but you will pay and there is a reason for that..Also there is Cummins Performance,Scheids.Maybe Ram Hunter could help out with having them tested as well.

Like someone else said if you need to replace one or two just do them all,if not you will be chasing your tail down the road.

That doesn't mean anything... If the ball can't seat properly and seal then the injector will continue to bleed fuel out the nozzle. Bench testing is the only way to find out. But like I said if you find one fail injector (which you will) make sure you replace all six injectors because the other injectors will be failing right behind the replacement.
