I've got a 2012 cummins 6.7 with an H&S mini maxx, 5" TBE and CAI. Tonight driving home from work, and it's done it before, the truck just falls flat on it's face for a split second, the kicks right back in again, now I notice it when the truck is not fully warmed up (165F) and when it's considerably cold -20 Celsius and colder. Any thoughts as to what this could be?

Do you see oil pressure spike or drop? Boost drop? Transmission temp jump(slipping)?

Do you have the throttle valve unplugged? I had something similar happen to me when I first deleted my '12 and that was the solution.

How do I unplug the throttle valve? And I just notice the boost drop, probably because here's no more airflow.

I will see if I can find a pic. On mine it is on the back side of the airhorn/throttle valve assembly NWRQC posted above. It has one of the little red locking tabs that must by slid open before you can unplug it. I was able to unplug mine from above the motor but many say it is easier to reach from underneath the truck.

This is the view from the back side of the airhorn/throttle valve assembly.

The connector you need to unplug is under the EGR plug with the pink paint on it.

When would it for sure be open to unplug? When the trucks off? Kind of a stupid question.

it's safe to unplug if you're running a delete-capable tuner, IIRC it'll throw a CEL otherwise. Unplug it when the truck is off, don't stick your hands anywhere near the fan when it's running!:uhoh2:

Will the engine light turn on everytime I start it, once it's unplugged? Or will I erase it once and that's it?

A delete capable tuner will disable the CEL for the unplugged throttle valve. I'll warn you, I don't have first-hand experience with mini maxx, but the literally hundreds of posts I've read state this is how it works. If you're still unsure, call H&S, I understand their customer service is quite good.

With my RaceME I never get a CEL. Truck starts as normal. You can unplug the EGR after installing the tuner if it makes you feel better but its really not necessary as long as you are running a delete capable tuner. The tuner program replaces the stock program so the truck does not even look for the EGR or DPF.

You won't have a CEL upon start up. As Power247 said, the computer isn't looking for the EGR anymore.
