Hi all you guys that have taken off your dpf exhaust I'm wondering if you billow black smoke out? On my 2009 that's straight piped when I'm feathering the gas to stay at the speed limit my truck just dumps black smoke and its not like blowing out it acts like its just dumps out wondering why it does this its very annoying. Thankyou

My uncle did a dpf delete on his 2012. I don't think he deleted the egr though. It's a straight pipe from the turbo to an aftermarket muffler he bought. It'll only blow smoke on the "hot" tune with the petal to the floor

What are you using for sensor fooling?
Have had two deleted 6.7s and the would only smoke when the tunes were turned up

I'm running a smart tuner and I believe its in the eco setting. I do not have the egr delete could that need cleaned out could it be the crankcase filter that I don't think has ever been serviced I'm just spit balling. And trust me if I didn't have to stick all that crap back on the truck to pass emissions ever year i would have it all deleted.

Just to be sure, check the setting on the tuner. If the egr is clogged, it could restrict your truck of much needed air and create the smoke. Crankcase filter could be dirty, but I don't see how it would do that.

Do you have any gauges? What if any codes do you have?
Does it clear up if you accelerate more or does it keep smoking?

I don't have any gauges and no codes, and I was thinking the same thing about my egr being dirty or clogged and if that's the cause how hard is it to Clean? and it does clear up when I accelerate.

I honestly have no idea how hard it would be to clean up lol. I have a 5.9 and don't have that equipment. I don't think it would be too difficult though.

Hopefully Stangshcky12 can give you some input. Worst case, send him a PM.

There's 105,000 miles I bought it used I'm pretty sure the crankcase filter has never been serviced I think I'm going to try to replacing that and cleaning the egr and hopefully the problem will resolve, thankyou all for your help.:)

I would start with cleaning your MAP sensor, it's probably pretty gunked up. Another option for the CCV filter is to run it open. It costs about $10 in parts (vs $65 for a new filter) and it keeps a ton of oil and crap out of your turbo. How if your exhaust brake working? Do you use it often?

sorry I don't mean to sound dumb but what is the sensor and where is it? and what kinda parts do you need to run without the crankcase Filter? I don't use my engine brake to much but when I do it seems fine.

Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. It is located on the right side of the engine on the intake horn.

For the crankcase filter delete you will need to gut the filter first, then replace. You will need a few feet of 3/4" heater hose (I ran mine down to the frame rail) a couple hose clamps and a 3/4" elbow to make the bend from the crankcase down, easier. You will also need a cap for the nipple on the factory intake where the crankcase vent connected to it.

As far as the original question, you're over-fueling until the turbo catches up. What is causing that? ? not sure yet. It could the MAP sensor is reading wrong, your tuning is dumping lots of fuel down low, your turbo might be sticking...etc.
It's usually in the tuning. Has the truck always smoked like that or did it just suddenly start?
