Hey guys, it's been a while, I'm thinking about coming back to the truck world after stepping out of it to get a car about two years back. I know my buddies have had some good luck with it comes to MPGs and having his 2006 2500 with a six inch lift and 35s still averaged about 24 Mpgs on the highway. I know you don't buy trucks for MPGs, but sadly I'm sure y'all still get better mileage then my V8 does. Truck will be my DD.

So questions are what do you usually get? I know it's subjected to how much you get in it.

Next question what are the mods looking like for 2013-2014 2500s?

I'm looking at a few that already have lifts, but I know I want to do an EGR and DPF delete.

Your buddies truck isnt getting 24 mpg
The highest I ever got was 22 mpg in my RCLB when it was stock
Now that its up 3" in the front with 34s the highest I've gotten 18.73 hand calculated (my overhead consol usually says 20+) and thats with a manual transmission and cruise typically set at 65-70 mph
Similar numbers in my girlfriends 05 2500 with a manual trans

The only way I could average that number is cruising flat at 40-45 mph

My buddy has a '13 2500 with a manual trans., he avg. 15-16 over same drive I avg. 18-19 (his truck is also leveled 3" but with stock tires)

Here's some more mpg numbers to take a look at:
06-07 Ram 2500-15.5/16.2 mpg
13-14 Ram 2500- 15.7-16.4 mpg (not nearly as many miles tracked as other models)
13-14 Ram 1500- 16.3/18.4 mpg

Not sure what fuel prices are near you but the cost/mile of a 1500 is still better then a diesel.

There are no DPF/EGR deletes available for 13- present diesels either since the EPA crack down

Pretty much what Stangshcky12 said.

My last fill up I averaged 17.01 mpg doing 70-75 mph driving across the state. My overhead reads on average 5mpg higher. I am running 33x12.5x20 tires and according to my GPS I am within 1mph of my speedo at 70mph, so I feel my fuel calculations are pretty accurate. If I slowed down a little and took it a little easier on the go peddle I could probably get back up to the low 18's like when I first bought the truck.

They have come out with a few tuners for the 13+ (Edge, TS performance, BD) but none that are EGR/DPF delete capable, and I don't think anyone will be anytime.
If you are wanting to go further than a tuner then I would go with a 2012 or earlier truck.

Yea he is known for blowing alittle smoke. I had a 1500 I got maybe 15/17 it was depressing to cost to much to fill up. That's why I got the car, plus I want a diesel for a few reasons, one being lifted over a lifted gas truck they still get better Mpgs. Appreciate the info so I need to look at 12s and prior alright sweet.

I have a 2014 2500 Diesel and I'm averaging 18.1 MPG over all. That is a couple MPG better than the 2013 1500 5.7 that I had before, but the 2500 is 4x4 whereas the 1500 was not. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Does this truck see big differences in Mpgs with EGR/DPF deletes and a good tune?

It sure does.

With my truck the MPGs are pretty much the same no matter which tune I run. I am getting my first custom tune this weekend and looking forward to seeing how things change.
