I'm looking to buy an '83 Power Ram, (Power Ram and Power Wagon the same vehicle?) It's got the 318 but a major exhaust manifold leak and I have no idea how much it would cost to get it repaired or just buy a new manifold all together, it's needing some other stuff one of which being steering related, the steering pitman arm? I think that's what he said, and the no idea what gear it's in, it's an auto but the, I guess what gear you're in (not sure the technical name of it) i.e. Park, Drive, Neutral, 1, 2, 3. Or if it'd be expensive to get that replaced. And the carburetor is not stock, he said a three barreled carb, I was also curious what the stock one would have been, and it Idles very, very heavy. So I was thinking that's just because the carb needs rejetted or a tune up done in general, but I don't know much about the 318 let alone an older truck like this, I wanted advice before I made a purchase or if I should make it at all. He said he'd probably be able to cut me a deal on it, right now it's at $1,000. If you need any other info to be able to help me out at all, I can probably help, and any help would be greatly appreciated. I also have pictures on my profile of the condition it's in as well.
Thanks!

I wouldnt buy it just because of the amount of unknowns and the age of the truck. The proper fitting parts for old trucks like this is usually kinda hard to find. sometimes they just dont exist anymore so you have to have them custom fabricated and after a few parts custom made you have already spent an amount of money that you could have bought a better more current truck but if u have the money and u want to buy this truck for a collection purposes by all means go for it.

I did find the parts I needed when I did a ton of research on it, the only thing I can find though is a 318 Exhaust Manifold, I found the steering piece at a local auto shop and they said they can install it for $150 or sell it to me for $100. Ironically the owner of the shop owns an '85 Ram Charger, so he could help me a little bit, the only thing he wasn't sure on was the Gear indicator, if anyone could help me on that remaining problem, It'd help a ton. It just doesn't indicate what gear you put it in, only Park.
