Hello everyone. I'm a new PW owner. I bought it from Dallas Dodge last Saturday. It's a great truck! I've already ordered my Magnaflow exhaust kit.

Does anyone know where the controller is for the built in winch? Are the operating instructions on the disc?
Thanks!

If it's not in one of the glove boxes or seat consoles, look in the rear storage compartments in the floorboard or under the back seat.

If it's not there, contact the dealer for one. It's part of the Power Wagon,so they should furnish you one. You can also buy a remote control unit from Warn, and then you won't need to hook up a cable when you need to use the winch.

Yep, it should be in the truck somewhere, along with the winch hook if the dealer didn't already install it. I think mine were under the rear seat.

The dealer keeps saying that there is a pocket just for the remote on the '15. Is this true? If so I may be blind...

No, there is no special "winch remote pocket" on the '15. Check the glove boxes, floor compartments, center console, and under the back seats. There are lots of places for it to hide, but it's in there somewhere. If not, your dealer needs to order it.

I keep mine in the driver's side rear seat underseat compartment which is where it and the hook came from the factory. No "special" compartments that I've found for the winch controller.

My dealer was not familiar with Power Wagons so they didn't know there was a controller in the first place.

"My dealer was not familiar with Power Wagons so they didn't know there was a controller in the first place."

Same exact situation here...

Also, remember if you are a 'first time wincher' to read all the warning and cautionary labels on everything.

It is an OUTSTANDING piece of equipment, but also it is not a toy and no joke. Use extreme caution when spooling in, or when your hands, fingers or other body parts are around it, or the line. Especially when someone else is running the controls.

Other than that, enjoy the piece of mind just knowing it is there, and ready when that day comes.

*Check my slideshow I just posted of winching my PW out along with my Rubicon last weekend. I'll post it up top in this sub-section.

On the new PWs, where is the clutch for the winch located? I was under the truck for a bit and could not locate it.

The freespool lever is located on the right of the winch as you are facing it (driver's side). It should be accessible through the gap between the roller fairlead and the tow hook.

You're welcome! Also make sure you stretch the entire length of the winch cable before using it the first time. It will keep it from crushing the lower layers of cable on the spool.

Being a winch newbie I wondered about that as well... thanks for the info!
