Lockers and Swaybar Disconnect Operation
You can only lock the axle's and disconnect the sway-bar when the transfer case is shifted into 4 Low.
Swaybar will disconnect in 4Hi and 4Lo at speeds below 19 mph.
Lockers only work in 4Lo.
Both blink until they activate, then light goes solid to show its engaged or not.
This is my only real annoyance about this incredibly capable rig; The Swaybar Disconnect won't work in 2WD, and that the Lockers don't work in 4Hi and then even in 4Lo, they disengage and the Swaybar connects back up if you exceed 19 mph.
I run "unimproved / non-maintainted" roads a LOT and would like to be able to at least go 45-50 without the swaybar connected. I also run in the Dunes, where momentum is key to going up any incline... Lockers that remained working at higher speeds would be a big benefit.
Luckily, the truck has a very good LSD and that allows you to get most places as is in 2WD.
I would go right out and purchase or wire up the "work around trick" to get all of these neat functions to work independently and on demand at any time, but I don't want to pooch my warranty just yet.
**Shaner82, when you go for your test drive, it will seem like the Lockers will not engage as the lights will just keep blinking for a very long time. This is because it is on pavement. You need to do some "S" turns to get the lockers to align. Then, it will start binding, as if driving in a circle with 4WD activated. You'll feel it in the steering.
Off Highway, where there is enough slip for the tires to rotate independently and lock up, it happens pretty quickly. But you can drive for days in a straight line down the street and if the wheels don't turn at varied independent speeds, it may never lock up. I was freaked when I first bought mine and kept getting only a flashing light on the dial, expecting it to instantly lock everything up. It won't, and it is totally normal.
