Hey y'all,, just joined up here. Wanted somewhere where i can log in all what I am doing to my 79 W150.

I got the truck from an uncle on my dad's side of the family on christmas day last year (not as a christmas present but just as a "i know you can do something with this" kinda deal lol) The 727 had just been rebuilt before being parked due to electrical problems (surprise surprise right?). So anyway, i get the truck on the 25th, on the 29th i head down south to Marepaus with my buddy and his tow rig to go pull it home. After some "tractor not heavy enough" shenanigans we finally get her loaded up and on the way home.

A week later, after fighting a seized starter and finally getting a new one, new plugs, wires, cap, etc SHE BREATHED ONCE AGAIN!!

Here's some pics for yall,, they arent really in any particular order but the one of it underneath the tree limb is christmas day, the others were the day I brought here home.

PS: Did I forget to mention she has been sitting since 2004?

Sorry if this is sporatic and hard to read,,,,

That's a nice truck! Glad your bringing her back. Got a better pick of that front bumper? Looks like a cool front step.

It's aluminum and has winch mounting holes as well as a fair lead mount. The rear bumper is a monster too! But it's storming now

What spacer are you talking about?

And yea man I was excited when it started. As soon as she hit all me an buddies heard was "cha Ching" of money running out our wallets *****. The truck is in my name but it's basically mine and Matt's. Dudes basically my brother.

But yeap. Gunna see if she will idle today!

The air cleaner spacer you've got on top of the carb so the base doesn't hit the carb linkage. I've got one on mine so the rod is short enough and so I don't hit the coil all the time.

When ya gonna drop the tank and clean it out?

Ohh ok. Yea I've yet to see one without it lol

Gunna use my electric fuel pump to drain the tank and then flush it out real good. It's a PITA to get the tank out. It's almost as long as the damn truck

Yep. Drop-base 14x3s pretty much require a spacer.

If you've got a 35 gallon tank it's going to take quite a bit to flush. :D

Pretty sure that's what size it is. If I can't get it flushed good I'm just gunna throw a 10 gallon cell in the bed lmao

Might have to drop it to flush it properly. And with a 360, you're gonna want something more than 20 gallons. lol

Maaannnn don't tell me that lol

And yea but 10 gallons is enough for a play truck. When it was parked it was getting about 13-ish miles to gallon. So, with living right next door to a mud park, 10 gallons would do me fine

Did someone forget to let the engine cool before removing the radiator cap? :D

I got that lever-vent! Lmao. Nah I didn't realize the coolant rez hose was clogged up. Popped the lever,, I normally just let it vent slowly to keep from just DUMPING steam into the tank,, well this time I some how jumped or twitched or something and the lever went WAO and next thing I know BOOM and my wrist is burning like an SOB. Too much pressure in the rez tank and it blew the cap off. I'm just glad the tank didn't explode and blow that crap all over me. But hey, she idles like a feckin dream, super cold blooded though lol. And I got the fan and shroud all back on today, a bottle of Trans-X in the transmission, and started cycling the gears.

I will admit that I tried to make her move but the right rear brakes are locked up. Had to drop it in four low and 1st and it just spun the left rear a little. That's the next project then.

Very slowly getting her ready. Hoping to have it for Mud Fest in a couple months,, but we will probably have our old 78 F-250 back more than likely.

Last time we had her she was wearing 37" swampers and had a huge warn winch with upper planetaries (no clue what the rating was on it, but it would move a house (literally, stuck it to my neighbors trailer and moved it with the truck strapped to a tree LOL). She's sitting on some 40" Boggers now. They say it does pretty dang good for just being a 400/4-spd w/gl /NP209 and Dana 60's (8-lug 60's) front and rear.
