Over the past few weeks, I've been doing a lot of research and gathering a lot of supplies to add the premium '13+ tail lights on my 2012 BigHorn.

The final pieces came in Saturday and I was able to build my jumper harness for the new tail lights.

Everything works great, so thanks to all of the members who contributed to the threads that gave step by step instructions and lists of all the parts needed for this.

The only thing I'm stuck on, is finding an aftermarket LED third brake light that will match the Laramie tails, or at least flow along with them.

Most of the aftermarket tail lights that I've found are smoked, clear, or red without clear cargo lights.

I've searched relentlessly to find a red lens led brake light with clear spots for cargo lights, but I can't seem to find any. I do not want to keep my stock incandescent unit, because I'd like to go 100%.

I'm really looking for something like this. The one pictured is for a GM.

I've never posted a thread on this forum before, so please go easy on me if this isn't the correct place.

What jumper harness? Did you make your own or buy it from Retro shop? What bulbs did you use for the plate markers?

I built a jumper harness to go from the vehicle plugs to the led style plugs on the tail light. I'll find the link to the write up and post it in here. I used some regular cheap led 194 bulbs from amazon for the plate lights. They have been going strong for almost two years now.

Pretty much the same recipe as Retro shop uses. I do not personally like them as those resistors get up to over 300 degrees, very dangerous IMO.

FYI if you have the cheap cluster you will have no issues when you change the third brake light if you have the fancy cluster you will get a brake light out message. I designed a PNP harness to cure that without using resistors. http://www.ramforum.com/f21/error_message_harness_led_chmsl-75515/#post1148562

Yeah I've got a 2012, so I've got the small older style cluster. I don't think I'll have an issue, but I will look into that a little further now that you mention it. Thanks for the info
