911 Assist Mirror Install Question

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 with the 5.0 screen with mis in my plain rearview mirror. I have done the 8.4 swap and want to put the auto dimming 911 mirror in. Is it plug and play?

While specifically I don't know about that, I do know you should be able to plug into the module no problem. But you're most likely going to have to get it programed for operation. That's how the dealers still get us. I have to take mine in to get the lights on the mirrors turned on.

I had to buy a harness to run from behind the glove box to the mirror. This made the microphone work with my ra1 to ra4 upgrade. However, you can't turn the auto-dim on or off until you get the code added at the dealer. I didn't care about this so I didn't get the code done for mine.

Also the 911/Assist buttons won't work for you either if your truck didn't come with 8.4 radio originally.

My truck came with the RA1 and the 911 and assist buttons do work. I have called both and spoken to the 911 operator and the Chrysler service center. I added the shark fin but no codes and do not have the auto dim control button.

well this seems like it going to be a lot of work...Does the dealer put up a fight to add these codes to activate these functions? Im OCD so would prefer it as factory as possible. lol

Also sales codes can be activated for doing the antenna swap and being able to use full uconnect service right?

No. Since our trucks didnt come with the 8.4 stock, FCA pretty much says FU.

Adding the 911 mirror was very little work at all. Of course I needed a mirror with mikes anyway, since my RA1 did not have any, so I was pretty much starting from scratch. I had to do the following;

1. Install mirror harness since I did not have one ($25.00 new)
2. Replace mirror (75.00 ebay like new) .
3. Replaced XM puck style antenna, with shark fin and cables for them (abt 75.00 new)

Time to do about 2 hours. But I have Reg cab and my antenna is in the front of the cab.
