Did the mod today on my 2013
Thanks for the write-up!
Found it easier to remove the upper glove box / tray to see actually where exactly to cut.
Used a box-cutter with a new blade - worked like a charm.
Thanks again for the how-to!

Did this on my 2014 today. Got the door from Amazon for like $12 and an STP filter from Autozone for $15. I bought a brand new box cutter from Lowes but neglected to notice that the blades are sold separately until I made it all the way home, so I made my cut with a small saw. As a note to anyone, be very careful to not drop anything into the fan inside the opening. Somewhere along the line I lost a small piece and didn't notice it until it started rattling while I was out driving. It took another 30-45 minutes to drop the fan and find the plastic in it. On the plus side, I can already tell the difference in dust. For $25 or so, this is probably the best bang for your buck comfort mod.

I didn't read through this whole thread, but I thought I'd point out that recently built 2016's already have the door, they just need the filter put in.

My 2016 2500 was built in June 2016, and the door is there. Apparently, the 2017 models will have the filter standard, and it appears that the new parts are already being sourced and used on the newer 2016 models....

I thought the shipping was very high from the recommended source So I amazoned the pieces and they arrived yesterday. I think it took me longer to research and order the parts than it did to do the install. I removed the top glove box as well. the cover would not stay at first...then I notched out for the two inner prongs and it seems to be staying clipped in.
Now I gotta find something else to do, I was interested in the floor lights...but ...DUH I already have them.
Maybe Ill try to learn how to wrap things. the black tape stuff on the trailing edge of my front doors behind the window and the front edge/ area of my rear doors is fading and has some bubbles in it, and my side mirrors, the coating is ripped and coming off in a few places....seems tedious and I have little patience.
I think Ill probably stick with my MOPAR list first:
Chrome pedals, seat covers, as I don't like the feel of the stock seat. splashguards( not sure which ones, do I have "wheel flares"or not?
A bed step kit for sure.
Kicker sound system.
Oh I gotta re paint one of my tow hooks, it must have been used once and it has a scratch and its rusty.
I would like the rear bed lights, but I have a liner and would have to cut a hole in it.

Thanks to OP and all others for this thread! I actually had time to do a little detailing when I finished the install... a little is all I ever do.

Just finished this a few minutes ago. Such an easy mod. I also removed the upper glove box. Helps so much here in South East VA where the pollen is hell in the spring! Thanks for the tips!

I got my door off Ebay for less than $10 and picked up a filter for about the same price. Best $$$ spent.

For those doing the mod and the glove box has the drop cable on it, tie a string on the cable before you removed it, and you pop off the cable from the glove box tie the string to keep tension on the cable. It will save you from trying ti fish for the cable on reinstall. Also to make cutting a little easier , take a hack saw blade and trace the out line by sliding the blade back and forth, which will cut into the plastic a bit making it thinner and easier to cut with the razor knife . Great mod and I it was about 30$ for me for door and OEM AF

This has been mentioned before, but just to second. My new 2016 Express already had the filter box and cover. You just need the filter it slides right in. Someone mentioned they changed this mid 2016.

Will these retrofit a 2013?

Pull your lower glovebox down and see if the filter cut out area is marked, if it is there the door/filter should fit

Check out the Cabin AF threads and You Tube,, As far as I know the blower box has the AF out line but does not have that plastic piece cut out. FYI if your glove box has the cable on it to slow the drop of the door , Tie a string to it when you remove it and tie it off,if not it will retract and be a pain to get back :O
