Just got around to doing mine on the QC. I did the mod on my regular cab in 13. Not sure why I waited so long. This is a must :)

Finally did this mod. Took me FOREVER to cut the door out. In retrospect I should have went out and gotten something a little better than a box cutter...

Just some quick info.

For anyone that has issues getting the door to "snap" into place push on the door's clip and not the door itself, this should make it snap in place and cure the whistling noise.

In addition, I believe this is the option for anyone who wants a reusable cabin Air filter. I am buying one after the allergy season is over to replace the one currently installed.

Just did the in-cabin. So easy and so cheap. $25 total and 15 minutes of my time for a nice clean cabin...I thank all those before for such great directions

I wonder if the 2015 or 2016 come with that filter?

It's easy enough to find out just drop the lower glove box and see if there is a door there. If all you see is a recessed "opening" then it's sealed and filterless.

In summary an inny is no filter, an outty has the filter.

Just traded my '14 Express to a '15 EcoD and I just ordered one today. I didn't bother pulling the old one out. Just took the K&N engine air filter.

I doubt they come with it.
Mine is a 2014 and it didn't come with it.

That sounds about right. Bottom line is the almighty dollar, aka Profit.

Had a mosquito whip in thru my vents this weekend- again! Ordering my parts this week. So what's the best suggested tool to use to cut out the panel? I want to avoid getting plastic pieces falling into the duct. And thanks for all the great info here!

I used a razor knife. Took me about 15 min total. Hardest part is laying on your back to cut the thing.

This is going to be a must for me. I use the truck to tote around the K9 and I don't need all my ducts getting coated in dog. I'm going to have to order these parts ASAP. Super glad I found this forum. You guys have just about thought of everything.

Dodge decided that our 4th Gen RAMS do not need cabin air filtration, this is an easy way to install one so it looks factory.

TOOLS NEEDED:

(1) Sharp boxcutter or X-acto

PARTS NEEDED:

(1) Filter box 'lid'. Dodge part number 68052292AA (About $11)
(1) Cabin Air Filter. Dodge part number 5058693AA, OR, Purolater C25869 ($7), Hastings HAAF1328, or Wix 24578

(These parts are all "OEM" for a 2010 Dodge Avenger, Caliber, Compass, etc. They will not be found by searching in any parts book under 'Dodge Ram'!)

Step 1. Remove lower glove box by gently pulling inward on both sides where the 'ears' are.

Step 2. Locate the filter slot area, which is shaped like a short, fat "T". Using the sharp tool of your choice, cut out the area just inside of the "T". You do not need to cut out the lower 'leg' of the "T", just go straight across. (Refer to pic)

Step 3. Slide in filter with airflow arrow pointing down. The filter, when properly installed, will protrude outside of the slot some. It will not be 'flush'.

Step 4. 'Snap' on the lid. You will need to press on the little 'ears' on each end of the lid (marked with blue tape in pic) until you hear a 'click'. This 'locks' the lid into place.

Step 5. Re-install glove box, and done!

The only "hard' part is trimming out the slot, but the material is pretty thin,,, Just take your time,,,

Future servicing of this filter is super easy!!! Takes about 2 minutes, most of which will be spent emptying the glovebox!

Ordered my kit on ebay instead of allmoparparts. Less money and free shipping. So far I've done the upper glove box and light, the under hood kight, and now the cabin air filter. Also added nerf bars and a full tilt toolbox tonneau. Next? Wish I could find inexpensive towing mirrors that can be installed and removed fairly easily. I have a tie on that I don't really like.

2015 cc done. Took 15 minutes because I'm a righty. Definitely easier if you are lefty due to the location all the way to the right. To avoid getting any pieces inside, do long slow cuts across. I had a piece hang up and took off the larger section regretting after. I was worried when I cut the smaller piece off it might fall inward. It didn't but just a word from my experience. Anybody experience any long term decrease in air flow? Probably a better question prior to doing mod.

Just did my 2010 BigHorn 1500 this morning. Took all of 15-20 minutes including rounding up the utility knife and changing the blade.
