I dipped my wheels about 2 years ago and have been struggling to keep them clean ever since. Some products left weird water marks on the dip. What are you guys using to clean your dipped wheels and where can I get it? I'm hoping for an easy, simple solution and I'm not interested in the "elbow grease" approach. Thanks.

Easiest way to keep them clean is pull the dip off and spend some $ and get them powder coated.

Now if you're a cheapster then look up DipYourCar.com, they have tons of dip products.

I'll second the powdercoating on the wheels... aside from the mounting and balancing costs its not really that much... depending on the shop. last set of wheels I had coated cost me $60 for all 4, My R/T's he wanted $100 cause he has to strip the existing coating off them.

easiest way to keep them clean would be redip them... imo

I actually love this powder coating idea especially if it's only around $60 total. I don't know anything about powder coating though. I'll be searching the web and probably calling around today. Thanks guys.

I did my fx4 rims and just used the tire shine on them. Your going to hit them when you do the tires anyways so might as well keep spraying. Worked awesome for me. Even gave them a satin finish vs the flat look. That stuff is meant for rubber and that's what pd is after all.

Which tire shine are you referring? Can you amazon link it?

I was quoted $75/rim to powder my 20's here in Ontario. So add tire removal/install and ballance and it's not so cheap anymore. Although cheaper than buying a set of rockstars! :)

Any one will do. I like armoral xtreme. Tires look wet for days! Just leave it sprayed on the tires but wipe down the dip. Dip gets darker but not as wet as the tires.

The powder shops around here are good, but they're slow as molasses in the winter time.

That second product isnt tire shine its wheel cleaner. You need something formulated to shine rubber, like the pic i posted or Maguire hot shine. They gloss up rubber really well.
Or one of these:

Sorry. Just realized you want to clean the rims first. I normally just used soap and water. Worried about those rim cleaners being too harsh on the pd.
