Better to just buy a like new leather steering wheel from seats and such when he gets them, he sells them for around 160.00, an they have the steering wheel audio controls in them.

So the module is behind the bezel of the upgraded one so if I get from a junk yard there is a chance they have it also?

Got a question here. Bought this radio from a salvage yard. Has no serial number sticker on it. How do I go about getting unlock code? Or am I better off sending it back and getting another?

Can a dealer look up the serial number by vin? Or maybe look up the code by vin?

I'm not sure I would keep that one. If they have another one I would send that one back. Gotta ask yourself why someone would take that off.

That's what I'm thinking. How would the salvager even know what to send you without the part number? I'm sure they know lots of parts, but this part is identical to other models with different part numbers.

You're firmware/software number looks fishy though. I would recommend not attempting a firmware upgrade.

Fyi quick google search of the firmware is coming up with an update from 2/27/2014. But for a Canadian version. I guess that could be an issue without proper information that used to be in the back of the radio.
Good news. I found the serial number. I got the code. I had to use engineering mode to get into the radio to find the serial number

That is nearly the same radio part number Jared 4.7 has and he updated to the latest fw. But who knows.

Had to hit climate so that the pass code screen would go away. Then enter dealer mode. Temp up/down/front defrost buttons same time. Glad I got the OEM bezel.
