Can anyone point me to the correct tool for crimping on the pins or can I make do with a pair of pliers?

In regards to a request on another forum, I put all my radio stuff back in my truck with the "97" auto climate
ATTACH]
bezel. It all works, climate, volume knob, off, hazard, browse knob and back button!!! The right red-blue climate buttons just do nothing. So for everybody that got an auto bezel it will work, but none of the auto functions or dual zone controls serve any purpose.

Do they make a auto system without dual zone climate?

@getupkid,
So glad to see you posting this here since this site supports Tapatalk unlike the z. I recall jeepguy1980 ran into the same issue on z's site selling his camera harness before coming here. He later ended up registering as a vendor here ( idk know those details).
Looking forward to seeing all the details for us 2013 4 speed fan folks (& 2014).

Tried making my own harness today and failed miserably. @getcpukid, could you make a harness if I sent you all the parts?

On the one I used it wasn't a joyful experience! I had Getupkid make mine, he must have a lot of patience or has done a lot of crimping with that tool.

So does anyone have the layout for a 13? Also did the Volume knob and screen off button working now too? The volume knob would be the game winner IMO.

Volume and all buttons 100% functional in my 14 and the few that have converted their 13's.

Well if someone can point me to the 13 layout since I believe it is slightly different than a 14? I already did the 8.4 in my truck from the 3.0 crap. So just need to know what to buy....I followed the thread on the "other" site but its a 120 pages deep with part numbers all over the place!

I will be completing the 4 speed fan conversion this weekend and doing a full write up. FYI I believe the 4 speed fan is used in all 2013 trucks 1500, 2500 & 3500, In 2014 trucks it is used in the 2500 & 3500, and I have even heard some 2015 HD trucks have the 4 speed fan as well.

There are several ways to tell which one you have the fan button on your control will have 4 or 7 notches and clicks. You will have two plugs going into your control unit (5 pin and 24 pin). If you already installed the 8.4 your fan speed will register either 4 or 7 on the screen.

So this is not so much a year thing as to which method you would use, but more so a HVAC configuration.

My 2015 2500 has the extra 5 pin connector, I thought it was a 5 speed fan. I guess I haven't paid attention to it.

So I'm not yet ready to do the entire swap, but how much of this are you guys buying new vs buying used? I'm sure the radio, bezel, and mirror can be found used no problem, but what about the rest of the components? Is everyone buying them out of one donor truck or are they just ordering all new ones?

Well, I am trying to follow the relevant posts but I'm getting a bit woozy at this point.
Since I have a 2013 SLT v6 with the RA2 radio and 4 speed fan, I am also looking for a "Roll Up" post from Mondo, Getupkid, LsMonk, Cptwing, or someone to bring it all back together, even though I won't be able to afford this mod for awhile. It would be nice to see someone reference the needed sharkfin antenna and extension p/n's that would be needed to eliminate the 3g/911 error as well.

As a reference ONLY, I have updated my word document that has what I believe are relevant posts if anyone is new to the thread and needs to catch up, or for anyone else. (I appear to have missed Mondo's original post where he used the original 2013 fan setup). This covers up to page 113.

I got everything used. RA4 $400, controller $50, bezel $50.

It's alive! Working 100%, minus blower controls till harness arrives, but I just put the factory 5 pin controller behind the bezel and have it set to fan speed 3 which is now on whenever the car is running. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1427849029.775478.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1427849037.906748.jpg
