Just Had a problem with this install on a new 2012 yesterday. I was buying a new truck and was having the dealer put the brake controller as part of the deal but the truck only had one of the plugs , the brake controller requires two plugs to make it work. Nothing they could do to change it, so the deal was off on that truck and i had to look for another one............... If you plan on doing this add you better look under you dash and see if the two plugs exist first..

Took this picture this afternoon. Are these the plugs that are for the brake controller?

I don't think any of the Express models have the second connector, unless you opted for it from the factory. Mine does not. :-(

I wonder what the second connector is for? I installed a prodigy controller in My 2011 and it only uses the one connector.

I do like the look of the factory brake controller but went with the Prodigy for two reasons. one, because I had it from my last truck, and two, because the prodigy is considered to be among the best.

Lot's of people on the RV forums add the prodigy even when they already have the factory controller.

You don't need the plugs just the wires find the right ones and splice in that is what I did and works perfect.
