I think they have their hands full right now. I phoned them 3 days ago, was transferred to their voice mail, left a message and still haven't heard from them. Their website says email and they'll answer in an hour. So I emailed them over a day ago and I'm still waiting for an answer. I really am interested in purchasing but have a few questions. No response and no sale ----

Maybe the Genie has them stumped at the moment. If so I can understand their dilemma but to ignore telephone calls and emails is unsatisfactory in my world.

Did your problem get solved?

Has anyone had good luck with the genie? Meaning no issues?

not yet. I'm waiting on the next version. I'm thinking they are having a harder time than they expected.

not yet. we've exchanged a few emails but no word yet on when they'll have the next Genie ready to test.

I have had issues on my recent upgrade. I first want to say that I believe they now know what the issue or issues are. I will say they have been extremely responsive. I just don't believe everyone is starting from the same setup to begin with. Some have used parts that have memory already programmed and some don't. I believe with any new product there are issues and challenges. That's why the price is what it is. A lot of time and money expended with little return. I will say I do appreciate the help I have received from the genie crew especially considering the dealer said it was not possible to do the RA4 upgrade let alone the temp control. I hope to have my upgrade complete early next week on my 2017.

Thanks for the updates fellas. I am certainly hoping Infotainment can knock this one out of the park as it is potentially the most reliable method of enabling the ATC option without harm to the truck's BCM unlike the AutoEngenuity tool which is not recommended/for the faint of heart (but we know what it's issues are).

To be fair, the proper way to do this was known and published some time ago. They chose to rush a product out to try to get a bigger piece of the pie. It's good that they're working with people, but there's no reason for them to have shipped something that didn't work in the first place. Hell, some people got ones that were writing the value for MTC + Rear. Did they not even plug one into a truck before releasing it?

Did you have problems with just the ATC conversion or the 8.4 conversion in general? I know of several people who have done the basic 8.4 conversion on 2017 trucks with no problems. If you had problems with the 8.4 standard 8.4 conversion could you share what those were over in the 8.4 thread?

Joe got one of my ATC harnesses. I believe the conversion went fine, he just had the ATC vs MTC + Rear issues that Rut Row and others have reported and waiting on a Genie to get it setup correctly.

Like I said I'm no software engineer but it doesn't seem like it should be that hard to fix this. I guess I must just be missing something. I would think they have two options that would both be pretty simple to do. First option would be to simply send out another Genie to load the dual-zone code in the truck first which would set the code into the heater control module and then use the first Genie to reinstall the single zone code. This would be very similar to how we got the ATC to work with our AE tool. The second option would be to simply do an exchange program where they had heater control module that they had already set the code on at their shop and send it out with the genie to install the single zone code into your truck. I am sure they are working on this and obviously both of those solutions have crossed their minds but I'm not sure why they haven't offered that as a way to fix this. In the meantime the members that have installed this code unsuccessfully have to deal with their climate control not working correctly until they come up with a fix because they have no way to put the regular MTC code back into their trucks.

The next Genie is on its way. Wonder if they got it right this time.

Factory calls for 20 but unless you have 20txl you probably won't get it into the hvac controller connector. 22 will work just fine. That's what most everyone builds the conversion harnesses out of.

I did receive Mike's harness. The harness looked great and was put together extremely well. The harness and the basic install / conversion went perfectly. The problem was with the genie which is well identified on here and being addressed. So you either have the choice of using the i.e. tool and risk messing up something it was not designed to do or use the genie which it was designed to do. I am in the aerospace industry so R and D is a very big part of my job and I understand that it is difficult to level set all starting configs, for all years, all model of truck and all radios involved. I started with a broken radio with very old software to start with. All while the dealer told me the basic mod was not possible let alone the ATC. Sometimes things don't go as planned but what makes a good company a great company is how the respond and remedy a situation. For that I believe the have went above and beyond and stand behind their product.

They are making it right and I have complete confidence in the tool. (At least I have AC)

I really appreciate all the help and advice from Mike, tommy and all the rest of the group along the way.

Is infotainment gonna post up with an update? Has this been remedy'd? For 8.4 factory and 8.4 conversion?
