Just put a 3" front lift and 35's. So at 25' the brightest spot should be 35" off the ground?
I forgot to measure before I lifted
Based on post #63 on this thread 35" @ 25ft is where I am going to start.

Wondering if something is wrong with my passenger side light. I'm trying to lower the beam, but it seems like it's already bottomed out... If I losen the adjustment screw, the light will start to move down but then pops back to its original position, like it's reached its lowest limit.

The driver side doesn't do this.

I have a TYC projector on my truck and the right side headlight adjuster didn't work. The light points right to the ground and it seems to bounce around a lot when I drive. How can I fix this or should I get a whole mother housing ?

Sounds like the lense broke off of the bracket.. they do have a warranty I think its only for a year though.. unless you wanna take it apart your looking at a new one. But that being said if you do want to take it apart, buy the fx-r projectors from Jeremy at retro shop.. your replacing the broken anyway, might as well make it worth your time.

Alright folks (& @0212353 ), headlights/optics aren't really my speciality. I finally installed the Tyc Projectors (came w/H11 & 9005 halogens) and RetroShop Harness that I picked up from GrayGoose on my 2013 Ram.

I did a basic adjustment to get the low beams at the same height as mentioned thoughout this thread, but my question is...

What is going on with the beam pattern here? Are they supposed to have this black square area in the middle with the offset cuttoff from right to left? I thought they should line up/overlap.

Is this a situation where I need to 'clock' the bulb or something?

You are not alone, I have your setup, and the black box. I now just drive with my eyes closed to ignore it. :roflsquared:
That sucks. Guess I was expecting more from these Projectors.

Took the TYC headlights out today to check the insides and discovered that the light pattern is caused by the shape of the low beam's solenoid shutter!

the cutoff is normal, are you still using the halogen bulbs or are those HID?

Halogens

I'm hoping @0212353 or someone else can confirm that the shutter on the OEM projectors is different/flat.
I was wondering if perhaps Tyc put 2 left hand shutters in the Projectors by mistake (both are hinged on the right), & have embossed LHD at the lower left. Since @socal said his TYC's have the same pattern, I doubt that is the case.

I at least know now that installing HID bulbs won't correct the shape of the beam since it's caused by the shutter.

the shutter on the oem's is different. it is flat and blurry - there is no defined line. The lens in the tyc's is better - not significantly better but better than the oem lens.

and no the shutters on yours were not installed wrong. Those look normal. I was told the drop on the left was to help keep the beam out of oncoming drivers eyes

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I can see the benefit of the drop on driver's side, but can't figure out why they didn't mirror it on the passenger side to fill the black box in/have the beans meet horizontally. It just looks odd once you notice it.

Either way, it definitely looks better and throws good light.

Nice harnesses Jeremy. Instruction sheet was clear and I apparently got off easier than most with the just the resistors on my 2013. Now to decide if I want to go further with the headlights.

well, you wouldn't want the mirror of it on the pass side.....then you won't see road signs ;)

I get it though, it takes some getting used to!

I think if you put hid's in them it will fill in that box area better

I don't see any way avoid it without taking the lights apart and modifying the shutter itself. If that's even possible (remove the pivot screw, flip around, drill another pivot hole?)

I did see the Morimoto Hid kit was $150 on RetroShop's site. That's not bad. I will probably be on the hunt for a good deal on some Sport LED tails and harness 1st though. There's is enough chrome on my white truck already without adding the Laramie tails.
