Maybe I'm the weird one but hell I just used fishing line, took the letters off then peeled the 3m tape off the truck no residue and took me all of 10 minutes to do both doors lol.

This is what I did too on my 2010. Didn't take any time at all and no concerns about paint damage.

Did mine over the weekend in Minnesota (it's cold here). Took me a couple hours and a few rounds of goo gone. One suggestion, if your situation is like mine: use good fishing line. I bought 8 lb test, thinking it would be enough, but broke after a cuts into the tape. Ended up just barely getting them started, then prying the letters off.

Also, do it on a warm day.

My 2010 is Silver. Worried about ghosting. Did your 2010 blue Ram leave ghosting on your paint?

Hello all, I tried the fishing line method and it worked great to remove the emblems, to remove the leftover glue I used goof off and my fingers and was able to get it all off. Looked fine when I was done, went to the car wash to spray off whatever goof off may have been left on the paint. It looked fine until now, 2 days later I noticed on my drivers door where the "M" from Ram was has a haze in the paint, I dont really notice it anywhere else but there, what do I have to do to remove it?

I had a haze left over also. I used clay bar to remove it then once I was satisfied with it I applied sealant wax.

I did mine last weekend. Used the fishing line and pull at 45 degree method. Worked like a champ. To remove the residue I found a product by turtle wax called Turtle Wax label and sticker remover.

Once the gunk was gone I washed again with some car wash to clean the remover off and then waxed the areas. No evidence what so ever I had badges at all.

A pic of the product I used to remove the gunk left behind.

Bringing this back to life.

I used goof off first.. where the 'hemi' was.. ruined the paint... however. I am putting blacked out hemi on there so its fine. I went and splurged and bought an eraser wheel from nappa.. for about 25 more than amazon sells it for but was already into the project.

Eraser wheel worked great.. took everything off EXCEPT the outline of the RAM 1500. Now I did the wheel again.. and even used some rubbing compound... nada. Is this because that paint is so clear and the rest is not since its 4 years old or am I missing something...

Ok fishing line - all I have available is the braided line not mono. Do either types of fishing lines work?

Would like to know to fix that as well as in I'm wanting to debadge but not until I know how to counter it

So for myself. I did the eraser wheel... then small compound after a wash. Then did polish, then wax. And it was gone.

I bought the 3m eraser wheel. Was way more money but didnt fall apart at all.

I used fishing line, then peeled/rubbed back the adhesive with a cloth that I sprayed goo gone on. Worked just fine.

Not sure about goo gone, but the goof off removed a layer of finish... took a good amount of polish then wax to even it out.

I also used an eraser wheel and it took about 20 min. Used it in a cordless drill at the lowest speed possible. Did have have a friend wheel out the area to remove some smudges.

For swirl marks (especially noticeable on dark colors) find a product called Ebony. It's a super fine compound created for removing marks in paint. It can be hand applied with a soft cloth. Apply a coat of wax onto the paint after use. If you cannot find it at your local auto parts store find an auto paint supply business and they'll have it.

Did this. The three year old tape sure puts up a fight though.

So far pleased with the results of using goof off and rewaxing area.

Just did mine today on my 2010 and the paint still has the "ram" outline no matter how hard I scrub. Anybody have any trick to get this off?
