I used goof off first.. where the 'hemi' was.. ruined the paint... however. I am putting blacked out hemi on there so its fine. I went and splurged and bought an eraser wheel from nappa.. for about 25 more than amazon sells it for but was already into the project.

Eraser wheel worked great.. took everything off EXCEPT the outline of the RAM 1500. Now I did the wheel again.. and even used some rubbing compound... nada. Is this because that paint is so clear and the rest is not since its 4 years old or am I missing something...

Would like to know to fix that as well as in I'm wanting to debadge but not until I know how to counter it

So for myself. I did the eraser wheel... then small compound after a wash. Then did polish, then wax. And it was gone.

I bought the 3m eraser wheel. Was way more money but didnt fall apart at all.

I used fishing line, then peeled/rubbed back the adhesive with a cloth that I sprayed goo gone on. Worked just fine.

Not sure about goo gone, but the goof off removed a layer of finish... took a good amount of polish then wax to even it out.

I also used an eraser wheel and it took about 20 min. Used it in a cordless drill at the lowest speed possible. Did have have a friend wheel out the area to remove some smudges.

For swirl marks (especially noticeable on dark colors) find a product called Ebony. It's a super fine compound created for removing marks in paint. It can be hand applied with a soft cloth. Apply a coat of wax onto the paint after use. If you cannot find it at your local auto parts store find an auto paint supply business and they'll have it.

Did this. The three year old tape sure puts up a fight though.

So far pleased with the results of using goof off and rewaxing area.

Just did mine today on my 2010 and the paint still has the "ram" outline no matter how hard I scrub. Anybody have any trick to get this off?
