Has anyone done the upgrade in a 2015? I replaced my 14 Ram with a 15 and have getupkids harness from the 14. Anyone know if anything changed or if I will need a new harness?

I've done the swap in my 15. I don't know what getupkid's harness looked like. I used Cuyler's harness and since I had a 7 speed fan stock I just needed a new HVAC Control Module...and the radio/bezel etc...If you had a 7 speed fan I don't see why it wouldn't work.

They are the same, Cuylertech's is more OEM quality but Getupkid's has the exact same functionality.

As others have said, it just comes down to whether or not you have a 7 speed fan harness or a 4 speed fan harness and what your current 2015 truck is (most likely 7 speed fan).

PS: A lot of the original info in getupkid's thread got lost during recent thread maintenance (admin was trying to update/combine the threads). Myself and some others are trying to locate/repost/recreate the info as best we can. Once the info is listed somewhere again, we might do a new thread to re-organize it all...again.

Current active thread is here: DIY: 2013+ RA3/RA4 8.4" Radio Conversion Upgrade

2015 Ram 1500 Express w/RA2 (Uconnect 5.0) from the factory.

Donor radio: 2015 Ram 1500 RA4 CA (Canadian version) part #68238626ae
Donor bezel: 2014 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman part #1uj96dx9ae
Fan control: Purchased new (2014, now has a new part #) part #68183973ab
Harness: Getupkids harness

Grand total cost: Approximately $550

So far everything seems to work great. As I have mentioned in previous posts I chose to go with the Canadian RA4 for several reasons. My reasons include no Uconnect access (ie no aircard). This to me is useless as I have apps on my phone and even if I could manage to get a Uconnect subscription I would not. In addition, I do not have to worry about swapping out my mirror for a 911 connect mirror or buying a dummy plug to not get the error message for phone. Also, I do not have to do anything with the current antenna on my truck. The stock antenna features both GPS signal and Sirius/XM.

These CA radios can also be had for a lot less then the NA version. For example, I was able to score this for around $350 shipped from LKQ in Canada. After using car-part.com to locate it, I called and confirmed the VIN through the donor trucks build sheet (obtained here through "equipment listing" Dodge - Contact Us ). The back story on my radio was that it was a brand new 2015 Laramie that was damaged in transit. As a result, I received a brand new radio with the factory screen protector still on. I will caution all who use LKQ and scrapped trucks, check, I repeat, check, the equipment listing. There are a lot of mislabeled radios that are not RA4 but RA3 and vice versa (this could work in your favor as well).

Features of this radio include HD radio, 3D navigation which works great in the lower 48 (NA Maps), Sirius/XM, and Bluetooth. Having gone through the features it appears everything works as to be expected. I have turn by turn directions as well in my instrument cluster (3.5" display).

Having run a 2013 RA4 CA in my old 2014 I can attest that that radio worked great in that truck as well. All the features worked.

Some notes with the 2015 RA4 CA. I was excited to see that I have 5 background themes (unfortunately I could not upload the images of this) and album art for Sirius/XM.

Album art for Sirius/XM:
20160116_1538571_zpscisralsy.jpg

HD radio use:
20160116_1515291_zpshanoawhf.jpg

Current software version:
20160116_1507301_zps3hya8n9m.jpg

Last note, even though there is an icon for "apps" it takes you to a screen that shows travel link. You can not access travel link nor any apps as you expect for not being connected through the network.

Excellent points made for going for a CA radio. The security vulnerability and hackability of tour truck goes way down without that cell card in the radio. For us upgraders, there is no downside really because Uconnect is not an option.

Question: Did you have a 4 speed and convert to a 7 speed with the new AC controller? Trying to figure out my only issue with my conversion. I have figured out prior to the radio turning off after I turn off ignition, the radio turns off the climate control. When I turn the truck back on it remains off until I turnil it back on. Now if I push the off button on the AC and then turn it back on, it remembers where it was set to?

I had it easy as mine is a factory 7 speed setup. I have noticed that my settings are retained when I get back in.

Mine is a 14 truck originally a 4 speed setup, so I had to do the 7 speed conversion as well. I have a 15 radio in it now and it retains all settings in climate control it also retained them when I had a 14 radio in it as well.

I checked with Austin at Navrepair with my part number to verify that I have a 2016 radio from a Ram. The part number checks out. I have ordered a MTC bezel to see if there is any change. I don't know what other AC controller to use at this point. Small issue but driving me crazy to chase down a solution.

I'm going to repost this here just as a reference for myself so I can find it later if needed...

Avgas just listed his 2015 RA2 for sale.

So...

2015 RAM RA2
PN: P68228668AC
(Avgas, RLK - in his 2014 truck)

2014 RAM RA2
PN: P68226685AC
(Ram5.7hemi)

2013 RAM RA2
PN: P68088693AE
(Mpgrimm2)

Anyone else care to list their RA2 PN?

Edit:
Below confirms the part numbers I listed and also confirms what we all suspected...

That all the 2013-2015 RAM RA2 radios are interchangeable.

Per the RA2 Radio upgrade over at OemAutoPartsco website (NavRepair)...

Ram Truck 5.0 RA2 UConnect Multimedia Radio

Interchange Part Numbers: TBD VP2 NA
P68088693AA (AB, AC, AD, AE) <- 2013
P68226685AA (AB, AC, AD, AE) <- 2014
P68228668AA (AB, AC, AD, AE) <- 2015

Update: Added some info on Canadian RA4 VP4_CA radios and PN's to POST 7 and my RA4 Info thread's OP.

These VP4_CA radios apparently support north American maps and may be a better option. Take a look at the post.

ALSO NOTE:
I went back and checked the 15.17.5 2015-2016 FW file that Indaram posted previously (see post 8) and highlighted the 2 groups of radio PN's for the RAM trucks (DS series) per that file...

I really think the 2016 radios a few of us have received and had problems with are in fact not compatible with the ram trucks. Here are the part numbers from that file for 2015 and 2016...

-- MY15 DS/WK/KL V2
ecu_part_number["68238619"] = "68238619AG" -- MY15 VP4 NA

ecu_part_number["68238626"] = "68238626AG" -- MY15 VP4 CAN

-- MY16 WK/KL/DS/ZD
ecu_part_number["68258671"] = "68258671AA" -- MY16 VP3 NA <--- THIS ONE IS PROBLEMATIC

ecu_part_number["68249986"] = "68249986AA" -- MY16 VP4 NA

ecu_part_number["68258675"] = "68258675AA" -- MY16 VP4 CAN

I have highlighted in red the 2016 radio pn base that 3 or 4 of us (getupkid & mpgrimm2 here, oguttier66 here, and Jake2544 here) have received and had problems with. Don't know how this PN shows as a VP3 in this SW list but VP4 on the back of the radio's housing unless someone is pulling a fast one on the hardware by activating NAV and changing the back cover/sticker somehow.
