Not personally, but I've delt with CuylerTech over the phone on a couple diff special request , and I can say his work is like factory harnesses . Lots of his harnesses are being used many on the forum here and abroad . His conversion harnes is legit .

Understand he is a small operation and terribly busy !

I'll say this , he seems like a great guy over the phone .

I just received a radio (P/N: 68224525AH) out of a Grand Cherokee. I know that the part number matches for our Ram's but do I need firmware updates for Ram or the Cherokee or is there even a difference?

When it is first turned on in the truck it will reset itself for the RAM.

Not sure about the firmware without knowing what version is on the one you got, but you should be able to install it and then see what fw is on it. If it works fully, it will be up to you to decide if you want to update it or not to the latest fw.

Tough call since it's working. What year and PN of RA4?

2013-2014 pn's seen to do fine, some 2015's have issues, but NavRepair seems to be able to straighten out the sw for some $$

2016 RA4's still seem to be a problem across the board.

I would try it first (10 mins), and let the sender know you may have an issue with it if the listing indicated an earlier year and it didn't work (Happened when I bought mine from Rags2Soles on eBay).

You can install it and use the basic functions without the conversion since you have the steering wheel controls, but you need the new bezel's buttons to get into the dealer mode to see what the fw is.

What is the PN of the radio?

Here is my understanding after several emails with NavRepair Support:

- 68258671xx series 2016 RA4’s are RAM compatible and the latest 2016 FW is v15.44.4 (was v15.30.2)
(which is not necessarily setup for pre-2016 Rams).

- 68258671AE ... Getupkid & Mpgrimm2 had problems, See POST 131
( No Sound/No Volume up & dwn control. "Settings" menu locked out/doesn't recognize key in "run" position.)
( Supposedly from a Chrysler 200c, actually Grand Cherokee. )

What do you mean by new bezel? I have Curley wire thing, the module for hvac conversion and the single zone center stack thing. Is that what you mean?

The Bezel is the " single zone center stack thing " you refer to above .

On another note , if your RA4 8.4 AN doesn't work out because of firmware / 2016 , the RA4 8.4 CA , Canadian radio is a easier to find and less $$ . It has US Maps for navigation and doesn't require a 911 delete plug . Express95 has had two and is very happy with it , I've recently purchased one and will be installing it in the future.

Picture helped. That is the 2016 RA4 PN NavRepair says is for RAM's (but didn't work for me or getupkid).

Do you currently have a 4 speed or 7 speed fan?

Good. Your whole conversion with the standard short harness could be done in 30 mins or less if you put the module behind the dash/bezel.

Please make sure you read the 8.4 conversion thread's first 2 posts, and look over the posts 3-20 or so (4 speed conversion, but some useful info also) as a reference IF you haven't already.

Basically if you have/can adjust sound and can navigate ALL the radio's touch menus/settings you may be OK.

I kinda of rigged half taking out the old one and using the new. When I started the vehicle came right on and said Radio Lock Please start vehicle. I did. However that blocked the screen and turned the air on which worked.

(I add picture shortly)

Then said enter Anti - Theft Code which I don't have so is this a NAV solution or ???

You just go to the dealer with the radio serial number and your VIN to get the 4 digit unlock code. You can also pay an online service to generate the code for you ($20 or $10 with discount code)

Purchase anti theft code from Navrepair for 20 bucks online! They reply within minutes, but call them first since it late in the day in florida
