Even with the premium cluster I get very little info on the music screen. If I'm on AM, FM or XM it shows the station/channel. If I'm on the USB port is just says "USB". I've never hooked anything to the Aux port, but I expect it would just say "AUX". Pretty much useless. :) Not sue what a truck that comes from the factory with the premium EVIC shows.
That's pretty much all you get with the premium cluster and the 8.4AN radio from the factory.

With the RA2 and the non premium cluster, does it show the station on any page? I cant remember if it ever did on mine, but I thought I seen something.

If someone can confirm it should on the old cluster, then I can install my old one again and see it if even was working on that.
my 2014 it does show the station OR aux/usb

I purchased a Premium EVIC off a member here, and it is different. It does not have the white dimming strip, about 3/8 inch, around the edge of the tachometer and speedometer. It is black like the rebel EVIC, but the Rebel has the red rings and 160 mph speedo. I prefer this over the ones with the white edge.

This is the part number: 68280831ac
It came from a 2016, I dont know which model

There are a few different premium EVICs:
Longhorn Edition, Rebel, Limited, Standard Premium?, and ??

I am contemplating upgrading the instrument cluster In my 2019 classic express. I just did the 8.4 radio and added a front camera but I'm a little leery on the cluster because I'm still under warranty. Are there any know issues with putting an earlier year model cluster, say 15 through 17 in a 19 classic? Thanks

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 classic. Looking at upgrading my 3" to a 7" Evic. I found a 2016 7" cluster at a local junkyard. Will this work with my truck? I've looked through other threads, but not much info on the swap into 2019s that I could find. Any help would be appreciated. I see dwhutch had a very similar question above; did ya make any headway with the swap?

was there something that stated that any newer year's 7" cluster have better options than others?

Just finished upgrading to the 7" premium cluster in my 2019 ram 1500 classic. Got a 2016 premium cluster from a local junkyard. Worked like a charm.

Two things. IIRC, the TPMS frequency was changed in 2014 so a 2014+ EVIC wouldn't work with prior model years' TPMS sensors and vice versa. I think there was a half-year in there somewhere, but I don't remember if it was 2013 or 2014. Second, I believe, was 2016 and newer EVICs have more splash screens available.

I don't know for sure, but I would expect they changed over to the new frequency TPMS sensors at the same time for all the trucks. If they didn't, there'd be a pile of wheels/tires for only diesels and another for only gassers on the assembly line. That would be a charlie foxtrot.

Would an EVIC out of a 2020 or 2021 Laramie work in a 2018 tradesmen? I need a diesel one and they seem to be a little harder to come by.

The other thing is 2013 and early build 2014's won't get the splash screen from a 2018 (2017 too I think) cluster along with the P blinking on the EVIC. I know because I have an early build 2014 get no splash screen and my P blinks. I know 2014-2016 EVIC's work just fine without either of those issues.
