I added a Bakflip G2 Tonneau Cover the other day and decided I needed to install some LED lights in the bed. I decided to go with blue strip lights to match the truck. I tapped into the power off the trailer wiring harness, made a plate to mount a simple toggle switch and wired three strips of lights. Each strip has a waterproof plug separating them, this way if the cover needs to be removed you can unplug the lights and pull the cover off. Pretty happy with the turnout, It will be interesting to see how well the adhesive on the LED strips holds up in the southern heat.

Looks amazing! Very nice and original color choice.

In fact, that looks so cool, now I have to do this...just not in blue...so I can pretend to have had at least one original thought...:waytogo:

G2 is pretty nice, very easy to install, I washed the truck this weekend and purposefully sprayed heavily on the seals to see if it would leak. Couldn't find a drop inside. Not surprising but it does get incredibly hot sitting in the sun however.

As far as the lights went I ordered them off amazon. I believe i paid $8.61 for 18ft of waterproof LED's. The Waterproof plugs were another $6.00 and then a switch was maybe $3.00 all from amazon.

Are you able to provide what you tapped into wiring diagram of some sort. Not really good at electrical wiring?

Thanks

I recently purchased LED strip lights and waterproof rocker switch a local boating supply center , the lights are made for above and below the water . I do not have a cover on my bed . My main concern was the elements and having to replace the lights all the time . I'll mainly be using the lights to pack / unpack my hunting gear and getting dressed in the dark , I'm always being blinded by the cargo light , not anymore !

That looks awesome! I've been on the fence for a while now about a bed cover, but I need one that's easily removable to have full bed access. My dad had a Undercover brand that looked good and it was 2 pins to remove it. I'm for sure doing my bed lights soon after the bed liner.

heres a link to the lights. In the alabama heat the adhesive did not hold up, I purchased a roll of industrial 3m 20lb double sided tape and put that underneath the lights and no there is no way they are coming off. Just installed a set of Red lights on a buddies raptor a few days ago, worked great except fords trailer lights require the key to be in and on, therefore the lights will not work unless the key is in, Ram's always have 12v power so they work anytime.

Finally got time to install my bed lighting , so I'm not in the dark or being blinded by my cargo white light @ the 3rd brake light while packing / unpacking my gear and getting dressed and undressed during deer season!
