Can someone please help me figure out how easy it is to add em push button ignition to my ram. I assume you need a different ignition lock cylinder, different door handles a new key fob and brain. Is any of this plug and play possible or possible at all?

STYSMason it is possible- I am still kicking this around myself- since you already know the dealbreaker for most was the door handles, the next question is, what is your budget? Door handles, dash button, harnesses, the sensor to recognize the fob, which may actually mean going with a new fob(s)....... my initial estimate is about 1400.00 - which stalled me originally but if you have the budget and want to tackle this I can get you a package possibly.

how involved do you think it really is, by that i mean even if I do get the parts there is no guarantee I can get the sales codes added and all that right?
I got the door handles already so I'm good there. Also is all of this plug and play with whats already in the truck or do I have to make harnesses?

I can get a code added, that isn't the problem, it is literally all the parts and the harness that you need to make it work. out of all the upgrades from heated seats to vented, to the dash, and a bluray player I did, this is the last bang for the buck, even my sunroof went off better.

I wish I could get to your dealer to get codes added. I am going to see how it goes today with my dealer. I am going to see if I can get them to go through WIC to get the codes added for the auto dim mirror if it's not on the options list. You are one of the few people I have seen besides CuylerTech that have been able to get it done......but you did get it done so I know if I push hard enough maybe I can too.

Rick, this was not an overnight process believe me and I am the one who told Cuyler how to lean on his dealers to get them to do it. I have about 6 months in that process and about $500 going to everyone from answer.com to Ask Jeeves and every so called Mopar Certified Specialist and even then, I had to take my techs hand, with the service manager at my location and go see their WIC and go find this process out. In today's world no is always easier to say by the uneducated and ill informed and its really sad. With so much entitlement today in the youth, wanting everything now and for them, you would think they would do to others are they want, but they don't.

Well I checked today when I dropped off the truck and my truck doesn't have the option code for the auto dim rearview mirror. I talked to my friend who is a Tech there and he is more than willing to help me get the code added but realy doesn't know how to do it. This is a smart guy but it seems like the Chrysler Techs are just not that well informed. I told him that guys on the forums have been able to have codes added to there Vin# to add options. He is going to try to figure it out. Hopefuly he can. I could tell he wasn't sure what I was talking about. I have my fingers crossed. At least I have a little bit of a connection.

Any updates on adding push button start? My '16 is a Big Horn with the factory alarm and remote start and I'd like to get the push button start added to my truck.

Im not sure how possible this because it looks like the biggest issues is getting sales codes added and for something like this Im almost positive a dealer won't help add codes for this. Im waiting for Doc Holiday to let me know if this is just plug and play and if not how much programming is involved.

STill on this guys- the holiday has the dealership slammed and I have been testing what they sent me, but I recently had my own electrical issue - this last cold snap. My Radar detector- Escort Remote, and my Alarm- VIPER - have died- no blown fuses, no issues I can find- they just don't work- I used the viper alarm to put the windows up and down and open and close the sunroof and the radar detector is amazing- anyone had any similar issues that electronics just die in a cold snap? both at the same time,no similar ground or 12v sources.

I have looked into adding the push button start to my '13.

From the limited research I did it looked like I could get away with replacing the ignition module with the push button start one. At least on my truck, it looks like the module for this is right on the back of the ignition. I was hoping I could simply replace that, a couple of fobs, and get the sales code added. I don't really care about the door handles as I always unlock my truck with the fob anyway. I am guessing there is more to it than this?

For note my truck is a Sport. I know it wasn't that hard to add the heated seats and steering wheel. Still bummed they became standard on the '14's but not on the '13's.

ok, the latest.....
1. got my radar and laser blockers fixed, with the cold weather a butt connector came loose as the jerks at the Stereo store didn't solder the connections- that's what you get when you don't DIY- it was a gift that came with installation, at least they warrantied their work. Always solder, shrink tube and label!
2. Replaced all cig lighters in my Ram 1500 and the wife's Durango with USB plugs, nice flip top USB label on the door lid- plugged right into cig wiring harness, now I am really smoke free with nice USB plugs with no extra adapters and crap.
3. Still working on the lighting of the mirror buttons on all the Rams- if you didn't know the mirror buttons and the toggle don't light up, but in the Grand Cherokee's they do, I swapped out the board from a GC to my wife's Durango with power mirrors, heat, folding, puddle lights and got her all those options and now she can light up her mirror buttons! well I am still on this project for mirror buttons on the Ram, but the plugs for the Ram are like no one else, so I am working on LED additions once you get the faceplate that has luminous or see thru light up bottoms, all the master switch face plates have painted on mirror buttons, and you need the see thru ones to light up.
4. Push button start- I have a push button now and ordered the module. Its actually the Durango push button as I took it from the wife who got a RED SRT push button in the Durango when she got a ram air hood for Christmas. So I got the push button, module on order and door handles are being searched for now - looking for a wreck if anyone has any leads, they are pricey from the dealer and right now this is just a test.
